ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE TRIPS

Most of us remember and commemorate the anniversary of our loved one’s passing in some way. It could be a silent prayer or thought, a candle lit in memory or some other special way that is meaningful to you and the memory of your loved one. It is an important way to keep their memory alive and allows you to have them remain a part of your life in some way. Marking the anniversary of your loved one’s passing should be special and celebrated however you feel is best.

One of the concerns many family members have regarding a burial at sea is the absence of a physical place to visit their loved one and leave flowers or mementos. Being able to visit a grave site of your loved one may be important to you and even important to your closure and healing. However, with our Anniversary Commemorative Trips, you can still have that time to visit and honor your loved one on the anniversary of their passing. You can even leave flowers or a wreath as you would upon a grave.

When you have a funeral at sea, whether you choose the Attended Ceremony or Captain Ceremony, the exact location of your loved one’s ashes will be noted by the Captain through the ship’s GPS. This allows for a trip to the exact place where the ashes were scattered to visit as you would a grave site.

The Anniversary trip can be as casual or as formal as you see fit. Just as with our Attended Ceremony, if you wish to have music played or poems and prayers read, it is absolutely up to you and welcomed by the staff. We want your trip to your loved one’s final destination to be one you will remember fondly and one that will leave you feeling at peace.
