After cremation takes place, the remains of the deceased are scattered ceremoniously over the ocean. This type of service not only honors the last wishes of your loved one but allows for a much more intimate and notable service than what might be performed within a conventional funeral home or church.
If your loved one has passed, and you have elected to have a burial at sea, SwanSong can walk you through the process and ensure it is a ceremony done with dignity and respect with your loved ones wishes in mind. The ocean-atmosphere, with the open sky and fresh sea air, creates an idyllic setting for your loved one’s final send-off.
The sea burial service can be done with readings provided by you and your family members. We recommend bringing special songs or poems to be read to give the ceremony a personalized feel.
The ceremony can also be performed by a clergy member where your loved one will be honored and celebrated as their ashes are spread over the sea
The vessels available for your use include our flagship vessel, a 27’ Grady White which will snugly fit 6 attendees. For a larger service, the 52’ vessel is the best choice since it can accommodate up to 45 people. With the larger boat, it is much easier to bring along food and beverages if you desire. Alcohol is also welcome onboard should you wish to toast your loved one a final goodbye.
